📣 Gifted Education Nomination Window Now Open!
🗓️ August 25 – September 19, 2025

The 2025–2026 school year gifted education nomination window is open from 8/25/25 through 9/19/25.

All 2nd grade students will take the CogAT screener, and results will be combined with reading and math scores to select nominees. Students in grades K–1 and 3+ who score in the top levels of achievement tests will be automatically nominated.

💡 Families are encouraged to nominate students who show exceptional strengths—such as quick learning, deep knowledge, strong interest or motivation, or creativity—that may not show up clearly on standardized tests.

Los estudiantes de Kínder a 1.º y de 3.º en adelante que obtengan los niveles más altos en pruebas de rendimiento serán nominados automáticamente.

Reminder! All students must have required vaccines or an approved exemption to attend school. This is especially important for Pre-K, 7th, and 12th grade students. Free immunizations are available through SFPS, with walk-in clinics on July 25, July 30, and August 6.

7th and 8th Grade Boys Basketball did really well in the season ending tournament! 7th grade came out Victorious with a 1st place, and 8th grade did awesome too with a 3rd place win!!!

Ortiz Gifted students competed at National History Day! Congrats to all the participants and a first place WIN goes to Noah and Mari! Awesome work!

As a precautionary measure following PNM's notice of a potential power shutdown on Thursday, March 6 (due to high winds), Santa Fe Public Schools will implement the District’s inclement weather procedures and shift to a remote learning and work day. This will allow us to ensure the health and safety of all. Additionally, we must comply with state-required instructional hours and avoid extending the school year beyond the scheduled final day of school. Please ensure that students are prepared for remote learning tomorrow, and stay safe. All SFPS schools are on a 2-hour delay for Tuesday, January 21st, due to extremely cold temperatures from the forecasted arctic blast in the morning. Bus schedules will also run 2 hours later than usual. Please make sure your student(s) are not dropped off before the delayed start, as staff will not be on campus. Full-day Pre-K programs are delayed by 2 hours, while morning Pre-K is canceled. Afternoon Pre-K programs will continue as scheduled. Stay safe and take necessary precautions.
