Ortiz Middle School is a caring, creative, intelligent community of lifelong learners with high expectations. The school makes bilingual education part of everything that it does.

Configured as the District’s only 6th -, 7th - and 8th-grade middle school, Ortiz is aligned with three elementary feeder schools (Ramirez Thomas, Sweeney and César Chávez) in creating a Dual Language model. Students receive instruction in the core content areas of English and Spanish Language Arts, Math, Science in English and Spanish, History in English and Spanish and English as a Second Language.
